Integrating your Instagram feed into your Showit website’s footer is a fantastic way to showcase your latest social media updates and engage visitors. In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the steps to seamlessly connect your Instagram feed to your Showit website. Lucky for us Showit recently added  a feature that allows you to embed your Instagram feed onto your website without using a third party app. So now it is a piece of cake to add it to your website. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Prepare Your Showit Website

  1. Log in to your Showit account.
  2. Open the website project you want to edit.

Step 2: Add a Footer to Your Website (if you haven’t already)

*You can also add it to your website anywhere you want but I usually put mine in the footer. Open the page you want to edit or the footer canvas, and be sure to also open the mobile version so you can edit them both.

  1. In the left sidebar, click on the “Footer” section.
  2. If the footer doesn’t exist, you can create one by clicking on the “+” icon to add a new section and selecting “Footer.”

Step 3: Add a Social Grid Block

  1. Click the icon at the bottom of the screen to add an object to the canvas, and select SOCIAL GRID.
  2. Once added then you can resize and position the block to fit on both your desktop and mobile canvases.

Step 4: Connect Your Instagram Account

  1. Select the block, then go to SETTINGS, and click the button to connect your Instagram account.
  2. You will then be redirected to a page to give Showit permission to access your Instagram feed.

Step 5: Customize the look and design of your social grid block.

  1. Go to SETTINGS, then customize the size, spacing, and number of images in the social block that you want to show in the footer.
  2. Make sure to remember to do this for both the desktop and mobile versions of your site.

Step 6: Add Fallback Images

Fallback images appear in the grid in case your Instagram account ever gets disconnected from Showit. This way images will still show on the page instead of a blank space.

  1. Scroll to the bottom of SETTINGS and select FALLBACK IMAGES. Here, you can upload images to appear in the grid as back up images

Step 7: Preview Your Changes

  1. Click on the “Preview” button at the top right of the Showit interface. This will open a new tab showing a live preview of your website.
  2. Scroll down to your footer and ensure the Instagram feed displays correctly.

Step 8: Publish Your Changes

  1. Once you’re satisfied with how your Instagram feed looks, go back to the Showit dashboard.
  2. Click “Publish” in the top right corner to make your changes live.

Conclusion

Congratulations! You’ve successfully added your Instagram feed to your Showit website footer. This not only enhances your site’s visual appeal but also keeps your visitors engaged with your latest content. I’m a mom of 4 beautiful kids with a successful online business that got started because I wanted to build my dreams of a successful business without sacrificing time with my kids and family.

I’ve been working online for 14 years running online businesses including an online children’s boutique called Barefoot Bella, and The Marketing Momma which has ranged in services from virtual assistant work, OBM, web design, seo and paid ads and now a full service digital marketing agency. I love helping other moms and women put systems in place to shorten their learning curve from the things I’ve learned over the last 14 years working online.
